Fourth year here with family and we'll be back again! This is a small rustic resort that is being gradually upgraded. Sarah and Mike are super friendly people. Reservation process is easy. We rented the resort's pontoon boat for a couple of days on the water and it was great! Swam off the dock a few times. Some rented kayaks for an early morning outing on the lake. The location is great, except there is little to no internet service. Fine if you want to escape, but not so much if you need to be in touch with anyone back home or need emergency services. We cooked all our meals in the cabins. There are no nearby restaurants, so that's pretty much a must. There's a little grocery and convenience store 5 miles up the road for anything we forgot. There is also a small well-maintained pool central to all cabins, a nice alternative to lake swimming.
My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Lakewoods resort! They have all the essentials you need and yet are so remote that you get to just enjoy the beautiful Arkansas/Missouri area. Swimming in Bull Shoals lake was amazing, we spent a lot of time on the private dock. Taking the Peel Ferry is a really fun experience too (especially for the kiddos). The Hwy 125 Marina and Buck Creek Marina are super close and great to explore as well. The owners are wonderful hosts, and are always available if you need anything. The office set up is great with some extras you may want to buy or borrow. Overall great experience and we will definitely be back someday!
Great place to stay down at Bull Sholes Lake whether for a small fishing trip or with a large family for vacation. Family owned and operated place with all the amenities you would need and they bend over backwards to make sure your stay is pleasant
This has become our home away from home! Our family stays here twice and year and Mike and Sarah are the absolute best, they treat you like family!! The cabins are wonderful, welcoming, super clean and well maintained! The views are gorgeous and the lake is perfect for playing, fishing and relaxing!!
After not being able to visit for a couple years, spending time at Lakewoods was like coming home again! Bull Shoals is our favorite lake: quiet, remote, peaceful, clear and pristine water, great boating and fun fishing. We’ve been staying at Lakewoods for the last 30 years. Been through several owners and they’ve all been great. Mike and Sarah have done a great job keeping the place ship shape. We love the cabins with a lake view. My days there start with coffee on the back deck enjoying the view, then a walk around the park just down the road. After breakfast, pack sandwiches and head out to the lake. Wonderful swimming, great water skiing and always fun to fish ( I’m not that great at catching!). The dock is very modern and keeps our boat dry during the occasional rain shower. The pool is well maintained and refreshing. If you’re looking for restaurants, shopping and lots of action, look elsewhere. This is a place to relax and unwind. Bring your food, a few good books, sunscreen and then chill! A big thank you to Sarah and Mike for keeping this place a perfect get away. See ya again soon!
Very enjoyable. The owners are super friendly & accommodating. The rooms are pretty clean, not fancy. Its rustic. The lake is beautiful & clean. I wish they'd move the fishing cleaning sink to a place where people weren't swimming off the end of the dock. Kind of a turn off.
The BEST place on the lake! Everything is always perfect. Great price, beautiful boat dock, always clean cabins, and Mike and Sarah go out of their way to make sure our stay feels like our home away from home.
We had a great time at Lakewoods Resort! We were able to keep two teenagers and 5 year old twins busy with swimming, fishing, boating, paddle boarding and exploring during our stay. The cabins are simple but super clean. Mike and Sarah were beyond helpful and accommodating. It made for a perfect family get away to relax and unplug. Not to mention, the lake was beautiful! We will definitely be returning next summer!
